About Us

At the Humane Society of the Upper Valley our mission is to promote the welfare and responsible care of animals, protect them from neglect and cruelty and increase humane awareness and compassion for all creatures through humane education, spay and neuter assistance, and adoption programs for stray, abandoned and unwanted animals.
Last year, the Humane Society of the Upper Valley was able to provide over $53,000 in spay/neuter assistance for over 2,100 dogs and cats. These amazing accomplishments would not have been possible if it hadn’t been for our loyal supporters and their generous donations combined with our dedicated volunteer staff who have devoted countless hours to helping these animals. We cannot stress the importance of this accomplishment enough considering the pet overpopulation issue that exists in this country. Four million cats and dogs, which is roughly one every eight seconds, are put to sleep in US shelters every year. Through the efforts of our board and volunteers, we are able to drastically reduce those numbers within multiple communities ranging within a 70 mile radius.
